Heat Treated ISPM 15 Pallets

ISPM 15 directly addresses the need to treat wood materials of a thickness greater than 6mm, used to ship products between countries. Its main purpose is to prevent the international transport and spread of disease and insects that could negatively affect plants or ecosystems.  We have multiple heat treating chambers to ensure pallets are treating appropriately to allow them to be exported.  We provide a valid IPPC certificate with all our pallets that have been heat treated to be presented upon exporting.  If you have ever had your shipment quarantined due to improper shipping, you understand how timely and costly it can be to get to a resolution.

What are the exemptions to ISPM 15 for export?

Some materials are not required to be heat treated before being used for export. These materials are exempt by the ISPM laws and regulations.  They do not impose a risk for boring insects to harbor in them, so they are safe to use for export without treating.

  • Plywood or wood made from processed wood
  • Plastic pallets – made from poly propylene or polyethylene based resins.
  • Corrugated Pallets – pallets made from wood pulp
  • Press-wood Pallets – made from wood chips, sawdust, or shavings
